Lender Program

Our Consignment Program allows you to earn money by lending your dress through our hire collection. We take care of everything— from storage and marketing to bookings and cleaning— while you earn a percentage ever time your dress is hired!!!
What is Consignment?
Consignment means you place your garment with us to be hired out to our customers. You retain ownership of the garment, adn we manage the entire hire process on your behalf. There are:
  • No upfront costs
  • No selling of your garment
  • No admin or customer management

Please note: By becoming a lender and putting your garment in our care, you are agreeing to our terms & conditons. Please read through carefully below.

How the consignment program works…

1. Submit your dress

Apply to consign your dress by sending through:

  • Brand
  • Garment Size
  • Size
  • Original RRP
  • Clear Photos

We curate our collection carefully and will confirm if your dress is a good fit.

2. We prepare & list your dress

Once accepted, we:

  • Photograph
  • Set the hire price
  • List the dresses on our website and social platforms
  • Store the dress safely and securely

3. We manage all hires

We handle:

  • Customer enquiries and bookings
  • Payment and bonds
  • Cleaning after each hire
  • Minor repairs and garment care

You don’t need to do anything.

4. You get paid

Each time your dress is hired:

  • You receive 50% of the hire fee
  • Payouts are made monthly via bank transfer
  • You receive a summary of hires and earnings

Earning Split:

  • 50%— Coastal Dress Hire
  • 50%— Lender

This split reflects the costs and work involved in managing, marketing, cleaning and storing the dresses.

Terms & Conditions

1. Definition Of Consignment

Consignment means you place your garment with us for the purpose of hiring to third-party customers. Ownership of the garment remains with you at all times.

2. Eligibility Of Garments

We reserve the right to accept or decline any garment at our discretion. Accepted garments must be:

  • Authentic
  • In excellent condition
  • Clean and hire-ready
  • Suitable for our brand aesthetic and target market

We may return garments that no longer meet our standards.

3. Ownership

You retain full ownership of the garment at all times. Nothing in these Terms transfer ownership to us.

4. Consignment Period
  • Minimum consignment term is three (3) months from the date the garment is accepted.
  • After the minimum term, either party may terminate the consignment arrangement by providing fourteen (14) days written notice.
  • We may return garments immediately if they are deemed unsuitable, damaged beyond reasonable repair, or no longer aligned with our collection.
5. Hire Pricing

We will work quickly to ship your order as soon as possible. Once your order has shipped, you will receive an email with further information. Delivery times vary depending on your location.

6. Revenue Split & Payments
  • Hire revenue is split 50% to Coastal Dress Hire / 50% to the lender.
  • Payouts are processed on the first Monday of each month, by bank transfer.
  • A hire summary will be provided with each payout.
  • No payment is owed if a garment is not hired during a given period.
7. Cleaning & Garment Care
  • All garments are cleaned after each hire.
  • Minor repairs (e.g. loose seams, hooks, minor pulls) are covered by us.
  • You acknowledge that repeated hiring will result in normal wear and tear over time.

8. Wear & Tear

Normal wear and tear includes, but is not limited to:

  • Minor fading
  • Light fabric wear
  • Small pulls or loose threads
  • Gradual softening of fabric

Normal wear and tear does not constitute damage and does not entitle the lender to compensation.

9. Damage
  • If damage occurs, repair costs are at the expense of the customer and will be chased up by Coastal Dress Hire.
  • If a garment is damaged beyond repair, the customer will be responsible to pay the full RRP price of the garment which will then be used to repurchase the garment or will be given to the lender as compensation.
  • We are not liable for minor or cosmetic damage consistent with normal use.
10. Storage & Risk
  • Garments are stored with reasonable care.
  • While we take precautions, you acknowledge that consignment garments are held at your own risk.
11. Use Of Images & Marketing

By consigning a garment, you grant us permission to:

  • Photograph the garment
  • Use images for marketing, advertising, and promotional purposes
  • List the garment on our website and social media platforms.
12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate this agreement immediately if:

  • The garment is found to be counterfeit
  • You breach these Terms & Conditions
  • Continued consignment would exposure us to unreasonable risk

Upon termination, garments will be returned within a reasonable timeframe.

13. No Guarantee Of Hire

We do not guarantee that any garment will be hers, nor do we guarantee a minimum income.

14. Independent Relationship

Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint revenue, or employment relationship between you and us.

15. Amendments

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will apply to ongoing consignments once published or provided.
